Not much happening today at the parish. An air-conditioner drain has been leaking into the office. Our trusty maintenance staff have been on it and seem to have fixed the problem. It has rained intermittently all day so far. My little dog, Butch, is visiting his friends this afternoon.
I received word last night that Tom Hunkins, Sr., the father of some of my former students and alumni of Subiaco died yesterday of a heart attack. He had nine children, and lived in St. Louis. Please pray for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his family.
This morning I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned. No cavities were found.
We are in the process of replacing our trash cans with a dumpster. I hope that it will beautify things a bit, but it could be just replacing one eyesore with another.
Signed checks for the week today. Amazing how much money it takes to run a parish.
